Introduction

I’ve worked as a graphic designer in a range of locations, from the steamy tropics of North Queensland to the snowy mountain backdrop of Hobart.

My formal design qualifications are a diploma and a degree from the Queensland College of Art. I’m a long-standing member of AGDA and Interpretation Australia.

My design philosophy is:
• less is more
• size does matter
• white space also matters
• respect your audience
• respect your content
• typography rules

Expertise

Although I work in a location in which it’s too small to specialise, I have continued to follow my special interests in graphic design – BOOKS, MAGAZINES, REPORTS, CATALOGUES and any other publication you can think of.

IDENTITY DESIGN is also an integral part of much of my design work.

Beyond paper, there’s the adventure side of graphic design – venturing out into the wilds to design INTERPRETATION SIGNAGE (and PUBLICATIONS) for national parks and other land managers.

And for projects where graphic design skills aren’t enough to meet the challenge, I have complementary experience in WRITING, EDITING and production MANAGEMENT.
